Center for Great Neighborhoods

I began working with the Center for Great Neighborhoods in the summer of 2011.  I was one of the teaching artists for the Digital Summer Camp.  Matt Steffen, also a teaching artist, taught the campers still photography.

The following videos are a sample from the 2011 Digital Camp at the Center for Great Neighborhoods.  I taught the kids how to conduct interviews, position cameras and an overview of how to edit. However, due to time constraints, I edited the video the youth captured during the camp.

For this first video, the camper and I were waiting for the winning team to cross the finish line at Covington Quest at the Roebling Festival.  We took the opportunity do an improv commentary of the festival.

The campers inteviewed Faye Massey, from the Center for Great Neighborhoods and a historian for the Lindon Grove Cemetery.  Faye gives a summery of the cemetery’s history and why Lindon Grove is so special to her.

In this video, the feature story is the Eastside Community Garden.  We discover why the garden was established, who it serves and how to become involved as a volunteer.
